Customizing the Sentinel screen workspace
One of the benefits of the Sentinel screen is that it is flexible and easy to customize to meet your needs. This topic describes some of the ways you can customize the screen. Once you have customized your screen anytime you open a case it uses the same layout, however if you ever need to return it to the factory default settings just click .
This feature requires option E14 Sentinel. If you do not have this option this feature is not available.
Simply because a view is attached to a particular area of the screen by default, does not mean it has to stay there. You can float a view by clicking the view and dragging it down until it floats. Once a view is floating you can attach it to a particular part of the screen, this is known as docking.
To float, move and dock a view, click in the view title and float it, then drag it to the region where you want to dock it, and drop it in the region. The region it will be dropped into is highlighted on the screen.
You can easily resize the views on the screen by clicking the edge of the view and dragging the mouse to the desired size.
Setting the colors of the views' borders for a case is useful if you are monitoring multiple cases and you are opening views in new windows. It means you can easily identify which views are for which case based on their color. To set the color, on the Input and settings view click , select your color then click Apply.
If your workspace is large, possibly you have multiple monitors then you may prefer to open the views in individual screens, for example you may want to open the Location events view on a separate window. To do this, click at the top-right of each view.
NOTE: You can only perform this when Sentinel Mode is set to Historical. Therefore if you are going to use the Sentinel screen in real time mode you must configure the separate windows as you require them first and then change the Sentinel mode to Real Time.
Once a view is open in a new window it can easily be returned to its previous position on the main screen. To do this, click at the bottom-right of the window you want to return to the main screen.
NOTE: You can only perform this when Sentinel Mode is set to Historical. Therefore if you are going to use the Sentinel screen in real time mode you must configure the separate windows as you require them first and then change the Sentinel mode to Real Time.
