How to create a real time smart track alert based on a ping location

You can create geo-fence and reverse geo-fence alerts based on a ping location which was triggered by an existing alert using the following procedure.

1. Open the Real time smart track location screen as detailed in How to view live location monitoring events on the Real time smart track location screen.

2. On the ping location you want to create an alert for click in the Create alert column.

   

   The Create an alert from selected location dialog box open with the latitude and longitude of the ping's location.

3. On the Create an alert from selected location dialog box you must:

   1. Enter a Location name and select the Type of target. This creates a location which is added to the Locations screen.
   2. Enter an Alert name. This creates an alert which is added to the Smart Track alerts & notifications screen. If you currently have this screen open you may require to refresh it to display the new alert.
   3. In Alert type select the type of alert you want to apply to the new location.
   4. Click OK to create and save your new alert.

   Note, the people who will receive alert notifications for this new alert are automatically set to be those that were configured to receive notifications for the alert you selected to create this new alert. If you want to change this then use the Edit Smart Track notifications screen.
