Analyzing the persons location patterns

This topic details how to view the person's five most frequented locations by the hour from 00 (00:00 - 00:59) through 23 (23:00 - 23:59) and then how to analyze geo-location events within each of these hours in more detail using the Geo-loc data table and the map.

  1. In the Analysis results view ensure Geo-loc analyses is selected.

  2. Click Frequent location by hour to expand the list.
  3. Click beside a target phone number or license plate to display the details of the calls by hour.

If you want to investigate these geo-location events per hour further continue with the following steps.

  4. On the Data view's Geo-loc data tab deselect (uncheck) the check box in the table title immediately next to the Zoom to column.

This deselects all the geo-location events.

  5. On the Geo-loc analyses tab right-click the hour you want to investigate further, then select Select all Geo-loc data for this item. Note, if you require you can do this for more than one hour.

  6. On the Geo-loc data tab click Visibility options. The Geo-loc active options dialog box opens.

  7. Ensure Unselected (unchecked) geo-locations is set to Hide then click Apply.

  8. You can now:

    1. Review the Geo-loc data tab which only shows geo-location events within the hour you selected.
    2. Determine the normal location behavior of the person and to identify any geo-location events that were outside the normal location behavior. For example, if the person made frequent visits to a location during the time period 08:00 through 22:00, but there was one instance of a visit at 02:00 it may be that this visit at 02:00 is associated with a crime you are investigating.
